My theory is that her core crystal was providing processing power to the lifehold, since her core crystal was part of a computer that created a new universe. She was stored in a pod, that opened up like a blade’s shield going down. Who was the only living body on board? Elma. Notice how the parts of the lifehold (apart from the core) are shaped like an Aegis core crystal. If she really is Ontos, she came from another dimension, possibly travelled dimensions, so it can be excused. Now the lightspeed tech is kind of iffy, but that’s one thing that’s hard to prove. She shows up with skells, that look strikingly similar to some of the artifices. She shows up with mimeosome technology, which makes sense because blades were designed by class to be ARTIFICIAL life. Well, not something exactly in the shape of it, but something that could just cover (barely covering the bottom of it) it while also allowing the audience to see her body because she was designed by pervs. In her original form, she shines, she’s blue, and she has something that covers her upper chest, something in the shape of an Aegis core crystal. Her race is unknown, we just know she’s somehow alien. Ontos is an unknown character, not specifically stated in canon, and since it can’t be Alvis, because of the lack of the core crystal, who else could it be? Someone we haven’t met? That is a possibility, but, take a look at Xenoblade X, who is the most enigmatic character? By the way, it’s Elma. When Klaus died at the end, the Conduit also fucked off to another dimension, it wouldn’t make sense for it to follow Pyra/Mythra since they were in the same dimension as the Conduit, and definitely not Malos since he died, but what else could it bond to? Ontos is the most likely candidate. Klaus also says that Ontos fucked off to another dimension. So, Alvis is the entire programming that went into it, hence why he was a god, and not an Aegis. But, Alvis doesn’t have an Aegis core crystal on his chest like Pyra/Mythra and Malos, his symbol is a triangle, now take a look at the main computer system that holds these three core crystals, it’s a triangle. The current theory is that Alvis from Xenoblade 1 is actually Ontos, since he says that he’s the computer that created the world.

Logos means logic, so it was the logic processor, pneuma means spirit/soul/creative force, and I don’t know enough about computers to figure out how that fits into one, and Ontos means existence, and I still don’t know how to work that in, but that’s not the important part anyway. It is also revealed that there were three main components, three core crystals, to the computer that created the world, Logos (which became Malos), Pneuma (which became Pyra/Mythra), and Ontos (who remains unknown). So, Xenoblade 2 ends having revealed that Klaus was split in half with the creation of his new universe, half of him became Zanza, and the other half became the architect.
